Our Op-Shop started out...
on the Church Verandah in the Year 2000 and what a great start to the new millennium for St George’s!
In our first day of trading the Op-Shop made $157.00 which was a fantastic effort given we were working from a couple of tables outside the Church.
Skip forward a very relatively short period of time, and in 2010 the Church was fortunate to be able to expand and develop a purpose-built, on-site shop to continue the fabulous efforts of our volunteers.
Since its inception the Op-Shop has been a hub of activity. It is a place where local community members are always treated with respect and are a non-judged face; a place where they find a sense of belonging through volunteering efforts, having a chat with other community members and of course finding a bargain! We welcome everyone with a warm, friendly smile.
We also provide:
Material items and goods to assist in our Emergency Relief efforts to local families
Clothing to overseas mission projects
Goods for Indigenous communities in the Northwest of WA
We value what our Op-Shop brings to the local community of Dunsborough, and its success to the St George’s Anglican community.
